About My Personal Life Ed & I moved to Chicago in 1996, shortly before Joel was born, so that I could attend the Lutheran School of Theology with the goal of ordination. We live in Hyde Park, just minutes from downtown, and are thoroughly enjoying the ethnic and racial diversity the area has to offer. I walk on all my errands and only start the car once a week or so. Ed's family is in the same region so we're having a chance to spend time with them and Joel is forming close family relationships.
Right after high school I attended Centenary for a year and then LSUS. Ed & I married in 1983 and I began a 13 year career as a multi-line insurance agent. In 1995 I left insurance (returned to college) and spent a year doing PR, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment & training for The Philadelphia Center, an AIDS organization in Shreveport.
Over the years Ed & I enjoyed many hobbies, particularly canoeing, camping, and bicycling. I learned to play the flute & he
